Is a small van the right choice for your delivery?
Book our small van courier for anything bigger than a parcel but smaller than a pallet: boxes, car parts, IT kit or fragile pieces up to around 400kg. You get a dedicated vehicle, a named driver and one fixed price, across London and the rest of the UK, 24 hours a day.
Our small van courier is the vehicle we send out most often, and it’s usually the right call. It swallows several large boxes, a set of car body panels or a rail of garments, slips into parking bays a bigger van can’t reach, and remains the most affordable four-wheeled option on our fleet, with fixed prices starting from £39. UK registrations of small vans actually grew in 2025, up 1.9% to 8,766 units, even as the wider van market shrank by more than 10% overall, according to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders. That’s a sign plenty of UK businesses still rely on this size of vehicle for smaller, time-critical jobs.

What Our Small Van Courier Handles Every Day
Typical jobs for our small van courier include ten boxes of exhibition brochures from a print shop to a conference stand, a bumper and headlamp from a motor factor to a bodyshop, a server and switching gear to a data centre, or a boxed sculpture from a gallery to a private collector. It’s the natural step up from booking our same day courier service for a single item, and the cheaper choice over sending a half-empty SWB van for a job that doesn’t need one.
Built for London Streets, Ready for Any UK Motorway
Every small van in our fleet meets Euro 6 diesel or Euro 4 petrol standards, so you won’t be stung by London’s Ultra Low Emission Zone charge on a job into the capital. Beyond the city, the same van will happily run London to Manchester and back without stopping. Every job is a dedicated vehicle: your goods travel alone, direct, with photo proof of delivery the moment they land.
Not Sure Which Van You Need?
Send us a photo and rough dimensions of what needs moving, and one of our controllers will confirm the right van and a fixed price on the same call.
How the Small Van Compares Across Our Fleet
From a single envelope to five pallets of freight, we match the vehicle to your load so you’re never paying for space you don’t need. If your job is closer to a full pallet, take a look at our LWB van instead.

Small Van Courier: Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a small van courier cost?
Every small van job we quote is a single fixed price agreed before you book, starting from £39, so there are no hidden extras added afterwards. The exact price depends on distance, timing and whether you’re outside the M25, but you’ll always know the full cost upfront. Call us or use the online quote form and we’ll confirm it in minutes.
How much can a small van carry?
Our small van carries up to around 400 to 500kg, roughly 1.5 cubic metres of space, which usually means eight to twelve large boxes or an equivalent mixed load. It suits cartons, car parts, IT equipment, print runs and fragile items that don’t need a full pallet. If your load is bigger than that, we’ll simply send a larger van from the same booking.
Will a small van take a standard pallet?
No, a small van isn’t built for a standard 1200 x 1000mm pallet. If your consignment is palletised, we’ll send our SWB van, which takes one standard pallet, or a larger vehicle for more than one. Tell us what you’re sending when you book and we’ll match the right van automatically.
Do I need my own goods-in-transit insurance for a small van delivery?
No, you don’t need your own cover for jobs you book with us. Every small van in our fleet is fully insured for the goods it’s carrying, on top of the driver’s vehicle cover. Goods-in-transit insurance is separate from ordinary van insurance and isn’t a legal requirement, though most professional couriers carry it, and we always do.
Will my delivery be hit by the ULEZ or congestion charge?
No, not from us. Our small vans meet Euro 6 diesel or Euro 4 petrol standards, so they’re exempt from London’s Ultra Low Emission Zone charge, and any congestion charge on a job into central London is already built into your fixed quote. You’ll never see it added as an extra afterwards.
What’s the difference between your small van and SWB van?
The small van suits boxes, parts and fragile items up to around 400 to 500kg, while the SWB van steps up to a full pallet and roughly 800kg. When you book, tell us what you’re sending, roughly how much it weighs and whether it’s palletised, and we’ll choose the right vehicle and confirm a fixed price before anything is collected.
