    Quick answer

Who can do a same day courier job in East London?

We can. A driver is usually at any East London address within the hour, from Shoreditch out to Barking, Ilford and Romford, and the job goes directly to its destination on one vehicle. River crossings, ULEZ and any congestion charge are built into the fixed price you agree before we collect.

Where London Is Still Being Built

Most of the new London of the last twenty years is in the east. The Olympic Park at Stratford, the towers of Canary Wharf, the exhibition halls at ExCeL, the new neighbourhoods at Barking Riverside and the offices around the Royal Docks all sit on land that was railway sidings, gasworks or docks within living memory. That growth brings a constant stream of urgent deliveries: building materials to sites, stock to new shops, equipment to exhibitions and documents to the banks.

A courier in East London also has to deal with the river. There are very few road crossings east of Tower Bridge, and for most south-bound jobs that means the Blackwall or Silvertown tunnels.

    The Tunnels, Explained

Since the Silvertown Tunnel opened in April 2025, both it and the Blackwall Tunnel have been tolled. According to Transport for London, a charge applies to each crossing in both directions from 06:00 to 22:00, with a higher peak rate on weekday mornings northbound and weekday evenings southbound, and no charge overnight.

For you, none of that changes the booking. We choose the crossing that gets the job there fastest, whether that is Silvertown, Blackwall, Rotherhithe or the Woolwich Ferry for a large vehicle, and any tunnel charge is included in the fixed price. It never appears as an extra afterwards.

Three Roads That Decide East London Timings

The A13 runs from Limehouse out through Canning Town, Beckton, Barking and Dagenham to the M25 at Thurrock. It is the freight road of the east, and a Dagenham to Essex job lives or dies by it.

The A12 leaves the Blackwall Tunnel northwards through Bow and Leytonstone to Gants Hill and Romford, then on to Chelmsford. It carries most of the traffic to Essex and East Anglia.

The A406 North Circular links the whole area from Walthamstow and Woodford down to Beckton, and is the way we avoid central London on anything heading west or north.

East London sits entirely within the ULEZ, and the western edge touches the congestion charge zone. Our vans are ULEZ compliant, and where a job enters the charging zone the charge is included in your quote.

    FAQs

    East London Courier FAQs

Will I pay extra for the Blackwall or Silvertown tunnel?

No. If the fastest route uses a tolled tunnel, the charge is part of the fixed price you agree at booking. We never add it on afterwards.

Can you deliver to a stand at ExCeL?

Yes. Give us the event, the hall and stand number, the organiser’s delivery booking or slot, and a contact on the stand. Exhibition deliveries run to strict windows, and we time the collection to arrive inside yours.

Can you get something onto a flight at London City Airport?

Usually, if it is booked with enough time. The airport is in the Royal Docks and quick to reach from most of East London. Give us the flight, the passenger or agent, and the handover point.

Do you cover Barking, Dagenham and Rainham?

Yes, along with Beckton, Chadwell Heath and the rest of the RM and IG postcodes. Industrial estates along the A13 are regular collection points for us.

How quickly can East London reach the City?

From Whitechapel or Shoreditch it can be ten minutes. From Stratford around 20 to 25, and from Romford or Dagenham about 40, depending on traffic. We give you a live estimate when you book.
