Two Man Delivery Service
Some things cannot be lifted, carried upstairs or placed by one person. A two man crew collects the item, gets it into the building and puts it where it is going, on a van booked for your job alone. Same day crews are available, not just pre-booked dates.

Two Man Job? Get a Price
Tell us the item, the floor it is going to and whether there is a lift.
What is a two man delivery service?
It is a delivery with two people instead of one, so heavy or awkward items can be lifted safely, carried up stairs and placed in the room you want. We send a crew of two with a van sized to the item, collect from the door and deliver to the door, at one fixed price agreed before the job starts. Crews run on a same day basis as well as on booked dates.
When One Driver Is Not Enough
A single driver with a trolley can move most things. What stops them is weight, shape and the building. A cast iron bath, a three-seat sofa, a printer the size of a fridge or a stone worktop needs two people at both ends, and often needs them to take a door off its hinges before anything moves.
A 2 man delivery service exists for exactly those jobs. Two people share the lift, one can guide while the other takes the weight on a staircase, and the item ends up where you actually want it rather than inside the front door.
What We Move Two-Handed
Furniture and large domestic items
Sofas, wardrobes, beds, American fridge freezers, range cookers and garden furniture. See our furniture courier page for single pieces.
Trade and commercial equipment
Photocopiers, vending machines, gym equipment, catering ovens, server racks and display units going into shops and offices.
Stone, glass and awkward shapes
Worktops, splashbacks, mirrors, framed art and glazed units. Heavy, fragile and impossible to balance alone. Our fragile and high-value handling applies.
Machinery and parts
Pumps, motors, engines and crated components that a forklift loaded at one end and nobody can unload at the other.
Something That Needs Two People?
Describe the item and the access. We will tell you the crew, the van and the price before you commit.
Tell Us About the Building, Not Just the Item
Most two man jobs succeed or fail on access, so the questions we ask are about doors and stairs as much as weight. Which floor is it going to, and is there a lift that fits the item? How wide is the narrowest doorway or turn on the stairs? Can the van park outside, or is it a permit bay, a red route or a service yard with a height barrier? Does the building have a goods lift with booking times?
Answer those at booking and the job runs to time. Leave them out and a crew can arrive to a piece that will not go round a landing, which is the one thing nobody wants to discover on the day.
| Job | Typical vehicle | What to check first |
|---|---|---|
| Single sofa or wardrobe | LWB van | Doorway width, stair turns, whether legs or doors come off |
| Appliance to an upper floor | LWB van | Lift dimensions, floor protection, old unit to remove |
| Office equipment or gym kit | Luton with tail lift | Loading bay access, goods lift booking, weight per lift |
| Several items or a small move | Luton with tail lift | Parking, permit, time window on site |
A tail-lift Luton takes the strain out of getting heavy items on and off the van, and it means a kerbside lift does not need four people.
Pricing and Timing
Two man work is priced on the crew, the vehicle and the distance, agreed as one figure before anything is loaded. Night, weekend and bank holiday jobs cost a little more than the same job midweek in daylight, and that is included in the quote rather than added afterwards. Waiting time at a site with a booked slot is built in when you tell us about it.
Same day two man work is part of what we do, so a crew can be sent today rather than only on a booked date. Ring as early in the day as you can and we will tell you the realistic collection time. Where the date is already fixed, booking ahead holds the slot.
Two Man Delivery Questions
Will you carry the item upstairs?
Yes, where it is safe and the item physically fits. Tell us the floor, whether there is a lift and how tight the turns are. If a piece clearly will not go up a staircase, we will say so before you book rather than after we arrive.
Do you take the old item away?
We can take it to another address, such as a tip, a charity or a second property, and that is quoted as an extra drop. We are a courier rather than a waste carrier, so disposal itself is not something we handle.
Will you dismantle or assemble furniture?
The crew will remove doors, legs or handles where that is the only way to get an item through, and refit them afterwards. Full flat-pack assembly is not part of the service.
Can I get a two man crew today?
Yes. We run two man jobs on a same day basis, not only as pre-booked slots. Call with the item, the addresses and the access, and we will give you a realistic collection time for today rather than a best case.
What if the item is damaged in transit?
Goods-in-transit and public liability cover applies to every crew job, and the item is photographed before it goes on the van and again once it is in place. For high-value pieces, tell us the figure at booking so the level of cover is confirmed in writing first.
Is this the same as a removal?
No. A full house move is a different job with different insurance and timing. We carry single items or a handful of pieces between two addresses. For a small move, our man and van service is usually the better fit.
