    Quick answer

How does a same day courier work in Battersea?

You book, we send one van and one driver to your SW11 or SW8 address, usually within the hour, and the goods travel straight to the recipient. Chelsea is minutes away over the river, the City around 25 minutes off-peak. You agree a fixed price first.

A Power Station That Became a Neighbourhood

For decades the four chimneys by the river stood over an empty shell. That changed in 2022. Battersea Power Station announced that the Grade II* listed building would open to the public on 14 October that year, almost 40 years after it closed. Today the building and the streets around it hold shops, restaurants, offices and thousands of new homes.

That has changed the type of delivery work in the area. Retail units inside the power station need stock and display items at short notice. Office tenants send laptops, contracts and presentation kit across London. New residents in the riverside towers order furniture and appliances that will not fit in a car. A courier in Battersea now spends as much time at loading bays and concierge desks as at front doors, and our drivers know to check booking rules before they arrive.

    Crossing the Thames From Battersea

Battersea has three bridges on its doorstep. Chelsea Bridge links the park to Pimlico and Belgravia, Battersea Bridge runs to Cheyne Walk, and Albert Bridge sits between them but has a weight limit that rules out most vans. Vauxhall Bridge, a short drive east through Nine Elms, is the quickest route to Westminster and the Congestion Charge zone. Where a job enters that zone, the charge is included in our price. The whole area is inside the ULEZ and all our vans comply.

Going out of London, the A3 through Wandsworth leads to the M25 and Guildford, and the South Circular links across to the A23 for Croydon and Gatwick. Typical off-peak drives are around 20 minutes to Westminster, 25 to the City, 40 to Heathrow and 50 to Gatwick for our airport courier work.

    FAQs

    Battersea Courier FAQs

How do deliveries into Battersea Power Station work?

Many units and residential buildings there use a managed loading bay or concierge. Give us the unit or flat number and any booking reference, and we will arrive at the agreed slot.

Is Nine Elms included when I book from Battersea?

Yes. Nine Elms, Queenstown Road, Clapham Junction and the streets around Wandsworth Common are all part of the same local area for us.

Will the van use Albert Bridge?

Normally not, because of its weight restriction. We use Chelsea, Battersea or Vauxhall Bridge depending on where the drop is.

Can you take a new sofa up to a riverside flat?

Yes. Tell us the floor, lift size and building rules. We will book a two person crew if the piece needs it.

Does a night job from Battersea cost more?

Slightly. Nights, weekends and bank holidays carry a small extra over weekday daytime work, and it is already in the fixed quote you approve.
