Do you offer a courier service across Cornwall?
Yes. We cover the whole county, every TR postcode, the Cornish end of PL and Bude’s EX23. Deliveries within Cornwall are same day, and so are most runs to Devon, Bristol and even London if collected in the morning. One van carries your job the whole way, at a fixed price agreed before we set off.
A Long, Thin County With One Main Road
Cornwall is about 75 miles from the Tamar to Land’s End, and almost all of it hangs off a single spine: the A30. The A38 and A390 carry the south coast traffic, but anything moving the length of the county ends up on the A30 at some point. When it is clear, a courier in Cornwall can go from Launceston to Penzance in well under two hours. When it is not, nothing else gets you there.
The road has got better. In June 2024 the last single carriageway section in the middle of the county, between Chiverton and Carland Cross, opened as an 8.7 mile dual carriageway, according to National Highways. For deliveries between Truro, Newquay and the east of the county, that has taken a regular bottleneck out of the journey.
Summer Changes Everything
The other thing that shapes Cornish deliveries is the calendar. In August the population swells with visitors, the A30 across Bodmin Moor fills up on changeover Saturdays, and the lanes into Padstow, St Ives or Mevagissey become slow going for any vehicle wider than a car. We plan around it: smaller vans for harbour towns, early starts on Saturdays, and honest timings rather than winter figures in July.
Where We Run in Cornwall
| Part of Cornwall | Main towns | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| East | Saltash, Liskeard, Launceston, Callington | Closest to Plymouth and the rest of England, so the quickest upcountry runs start here. |
| North coast | Bude, Wadebridge, Padstow, Newquay | Bude uses the EX23 postcode. Summer traffic is heaviest around Newquay and Padstow. |
| Mid Cornwall | Truro, St Austell, Bodmin | The commercial centre of the county, with the main hospital at Treliske and the clay country around St Austell. |
| South coast | Falmouth, Penryn, Helston, Fowey | Docks, the university campus at Penryn and marine suppliers. Narrow roads into the harbour towns. |
| West | Camborne, Redruth, Hayle, St Ives, Penzance | Pool and Camborne are the industrial end. Penzance is the jumping-off point for the Isles of Scilly. |

Getting In and Out of Cornwall
Most of our Cornish work crosses the Tamar in one direction or the other. Components from Midlands suppliers heading for engineering firms at Pool, stock for Falmouth marine businesses, originals for Truro solicitors, or Cornish produce and products heading to customers in London and Bristol.
From the east, the A30 via Okehampton and Launceston is usually fastest for the north and middle of the county, and the A38 over the Tamar Bridge suits Saltash, Liskeard and the south coast. Plymouth is an hour or less from most of east Cornwall, Exeter about an hour and a half from Bodmin, and London roughly five hours from Truro. Collect in the morning and even the longest of those is a same day job.
The Isles of Scilly
We do not drive to the islands, because nobody can. What we can do is get your consignment to Penzance in time for the freight service and hand it over with the right paperwork, so it crosses on the next sailing rather than waiting in a network depot upcountry. Ask when you book and we will check the timings for you.
Cornwall Courier FAQs
Is same day delivery realistic from Cornwall to London?
From most of the county, yes, if collected in the morning. Truro to central London is around five hours of driving, Liskeard nearer four. From the far west we may suggest an overnight run so the delivery arrives first thing.
Do Cornish postcodes cost more to deliver to?
There is no postcode surcharge. We price by the vehicle and the miles, so a Cornish job costs more than a local one only in proportion to the distance, and the full figure is fixed before we collect.
Can you get into small harbour towns like St Ives or Mevagissey?
Yes, with the right vehicle. For tight harbour streets we send a small van and plan where it can stop. If the address is pedestrian only in summer, we arrange to meet at the nearest point a vehicle can reach.
Do you collect from farms and rural addresses?
Yes. Rural Cornwall is a big part of the county, and we collect from farms, workshops and homes down long lanes. A what3words location or directions from the nearest village help the driver find you first time.
What about Devon deliveries from Cornwall?
Straightforward and usually quick. Plymouth, Tavistock and Okehampton are an hour or less from east Cornwall, and Exeter and the M5 around an hour and a half from mid Cornwall.
