    Quick answer

Can I get a same day courier in Lancaster?

Yes. We collect across Lancaster, Morecambe, Heysham and Carnforth, typically within the hour, and deliver directly on a single vehicle. Preston is about 30 minutes away, Manchester an hour and a quarter, the Lake District under an hour and London around four and a half hours. Nothing moves until you have accepted the price.

A Small City With Big Connections

Lancaster is compact, but it has more going on than its size suggests. Lancaster University at Bailrigg is one of the larger employers in the north west, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary serves a wide area, and just along the bay the port at Heysham runs ferry and freight services to the Isle of Man and Ireland. Add the power stations at Heysham, the industrial estates at White Lund and the M6 running past the city, and a courier in Lancaster sees a wide range of work.

    The Bay Gateway Changed Things

For years, getting from the Heysham peninsula to the motorway meant crawling through Lancaster city centre and over its river bridges. That changed when the Bay Gateway opened. According to Marketing Lancashire, the £140 million road opened on 31 October 2016, linking the peninsula to the M6 at junction 34, and it was described as the biggest new road built in Lancashire for decades.

For us that means a collection at White Lund or a delivery to Heysham port no longer depends on city centre traffic. Morecambe and Heysham are now minutes from the motorway, and the city centre’s one-way system is only a factor when the job is actually in the city.

    FAQs

    Lancaster Courier FAQs

Can you deliver to Heysham port for a sailing?

Yes. Give us the operator, the sailing and the drop point, whether that is a freight office or a vehicle already booked on. We time the collection so it arrives before cut-off.

Do you collect from Lancaster University?

Yes. Give us the department and building on the Bailrigg campus and a contact. Research samples, equipment and documents can go to other universities and labs across the UK.

Do you cover Morecambe, Carnforth and the Lune Valley?

Yes, along with Heysham, Bolton-le-Sands, Galgate, Caton and Kirkby Lonsdale.

Can you go north into the Lake District?

Yes. Kendal is about half an hour away, and Windermere, Keswick and the rest of Cumbria are reachable the same day. Lake District roads are slow in summer, and we allow for that.

Is Lancaster to London possible the same day?

Yes. At around four and a half hours on the M6 and M1, a morning collection usually arrives in London in the afternoon. Later bookings can run overnight.
