    Quick answer

Is there a same day courier in Weymouth?

Yes. We collect across DT3 and DT4 and over the causeway on Portland, usually within the hour, and drive the consignment directly to the recipient. Dorchester is about 15 to 20 minutes away, Bournemouth under an hour, Exeter roughly an hour and 20 minutes and London about three and a quarter hours. The agreed price is the final price.

A Working Harbour in the Middle of a Resort

Most visitors see Weymouth as a beach town with a Georgian seafront. Behind the promenade, the harbour is still very much at work. In its harbours strategy, Dorset Council describes Weymouth harbour as home to a commercial fishing fleet, one of the biggest charter boat fleets in the country, diving and sea angling businesses and a busy leisure boating sector. The council is the statutory harbour authority.

That gives a courier in Weymouth two very different kinds of work around the quays. The first is seafood. Crab, lobster and fish landed in the morning can be on a restaurant pass or a wholesaler’s bench in London, Bristol or Birmingham the same day, kept cold all the way with our chilled courier service. The second is marine: engine parts, electronics, safety equipment and paperwork for boats that earn money only when they are at sea.

The Relief Road and the Ridgeway

Until 2011, the main road north climbed the Ridgeway on a steep, winding route that made every journey out of Weymouth slow. The Weymouth Relief Road now carries traffic up to Dorchester much more directly, and from there the A35 and A37 lead east and north. It is still a long way to a motorway, which is exactly why a dedicated van that goes straight to the recipient makes sense here.

Morning Catch for a London Kitchen?

Call once it is landed and packed. A chilled van will leave Weymouth and head straight there.

    FAQs

    Weymouth Courier FAQs

Can you take fresh seafood from Weymouth harbour to London today?

Yes. The catch is kept chilled in a van carrying nothing else and delivered straight to the kitchen or wholesaler. The run takes about three and a quarter hours.

Do you deliver marine spares to boats in Weymouth or Portland?

Yes. Give us the berth, the vessel and a contact number. We will bring the part to the quay or the harbour office as arranged.

Do you cover Portland, Chickerell and Upwey?

Yes, along with Preston, Wyke Regis, Broadwey and the villages around Weymouth.

Is it more expensive to use a courier at the weekend in Weymouth?

A little. Weekend, night and bank holiday bookings cost slightly more than weekday daytime, and the quote you accept already includes that.

Can you collect items from a holiday let and take them home for the owner?

Yes. Tell us how to get in and who will receive the items, and we can deliver anywhere in the UK.
